Calculation Error due to Period Limitation

When I process payroll on a semi-monthly schedule for February, the system limits the pay period to 14 days. I would like to capture that actual number of days the employee worked, for example: February 1 to February 15, with a payout date of February 20. However, the system does not allow this because of the 14-day limitation.

February is a unique month. I believe the system calculates the number of days in the month and divides it by two for semi-monthly payments, which results in a 14-day limit. However, it would be preferable if the monthly period defaulted to a minimum of 30 days, to avoid such error.

In this case, the employee worked from February 1 to February 15, which totals 15 days. Due to the current limitation, I’m unable to capture all 15 days when I processed the payroll.

I hope you will prioritize this matter, as it is not a feature request but a clear calculation error for February.

Sorry that I am confused.

If the payroll period allows up to a minimum of 30 days, is it still considered semi-monthly?

Hi kapchew,

Thank you for accepting this post. Apologies for the confusion, to keep my request simple, let semi-monthly have a maximum of 15 days. February is currently restricted to 14 days only.
