Can you please add field check out
May I know why?
Dear HR.my Team,
We would like to request adding a dedicated “Field Check-Out” feature to the system.
Currently, employees are required to use “Field Check-In” twice (once when arriving and again when leaving), which creates confusion for employees and managers, as it is not a logical or user-friendly workflow.
The absence of a separate Check-Out option causes several operational issues, including:
- Difficulty calculating actual working hours on-site
- Confusion when employees move between multiple sites during the same day
- Inaccurate or unclear attendance records
- Extra manual work when preparing monthly attendance reports
- Difficulty using Excel formulas to calculate total working hours between each entry and exit
- Increased possibility of errors during payroll preparation
- Employees misunderstanding the process because there is no clear distinction between arrival and departure actions
A dedicated “Field Check-Out” feature would significantly improve:
- Attendance accuracy
- Working hours calculation
- Payroll processing
- Site movement tracking
- User experience for both employees and managers
This enhancement would make the field attendance process much more practical and professional for companies managing multiple sites and mobile employees.
Thank you for your consideration, and we hope this feature can be added in a future update.
Best regards,
Gehan
any feedback?
Field Check-Out was not initially designed for such purpose. It’s only meant to record employee’s presence at a location.
Field Check-Out may not have been initially designed for this purpose, but from an HR and attendance management perspective, it is a fundamental requirement.
If the system only records that an employee was present at a location, then:
-
How can we track when the employee leaves the site?
-
How can we calculate actual working hours?
-
How can we determine if the employee completed a full shift or left early?
-
How can we accurately identify absences or incomplete attendance records?
Our objective is not simply to prove that an employee was at a location at some point during the day. We need a complete attendance process that supports payroll calculations, working hours, overtime, and attendance compliance.
A check-in without a corresponding check-out only provides partial information and does not meet the operational needs of HR.
